Zeyrek Çinili Hamam
Mimar Sinan built this double hamam for the admiral Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha, and it's named for its Iznik tiles, most of which were stripped and sold in Paris in the 19th century. It reopened in 2023 after thirteen years of restoration; a Byzantine cistern under the women's cold room now holds art installations.

About Zeyrek Çinili Hamam
Large hexagonal panels in the women's hot room hold the only tiles that survive intact in their original place; others went to the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Louvre and the Ashmolean, and one was reused at Leighton House in London. The walls of the cistern carry incised graffiti of galleys and sailing ships by unknown hands. In the 1700s the building briefly served as military stables, and it was also known as the Nakkaşlar Hammam, probably after the decorators who used it. Towels and garments are by the designer Hussein Chalayan, and seasonal sherbets are served in the cold room after bathing.
