Ağa Hamamı
The operator dates the building to 1454, when Mehmed the Conqueror built it as a hunting house with a bath below two upper floors; it was renovated in 1844 and last in 1986. The bath is still heated by a wood fire in its kulhan, and men and women bathe together.

About Ağa Hamamı
The operator says Mehmed the Conqueror and his sons used it as a private bath, at a time when Beyoğlu was not yet settled and the sultans came here to hunt, and that later sultans and their sons used it until the last years of the empire. After the Republic was founded in 1923, an Armenian woman bought it and opened it to the public for the first time. She sold it to Huseyin Yilmaz, who sold it to his nephew Ali Yilmaz in May 1974. In the hot halvet, two small rooms each have three marble kurnas where water from a hot and a cold tap is mixed.
