Lido & Steam has no accounts, no contact form, no analytics and no advertising. The only personal data involved is your IP address when a page is delivered and anything you write if you email me.

Delivering the pages: Cloudflare

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which also runs the domain's name servers. To send a page to your browser, Cloudflare processes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser's user agent and the referring page. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a website that works and can be protected against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

I see only totals, such as requests per day and the pages and countries they came from, never individual visits. Cloudflare keeps request data for as long as it needs to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare is a US company, so data may be processed outside the EU. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and it processes this data on my behalf under its data processing addendum. Its own handling is described in its privacy policy.

Maps and your browser

The maps on this site are drawn from Natural Earth outlines and OpenStreetMap data and stored on this site as code and images, so showing them sends nothing to anyone. No cookies are set and nothing is kept in your browser's storage. The "Open in Google Maps" button takes you to Google, whose privacy policy applies from there; nothing is sent to Google until you click it.

If you email me

Email to lidoandsteam.com addresses, including the "Know it? Tell us" links on the pages, is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, which processes it on my behalf. I use your address and message only to reply, and to correct the page when you send a fact. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you, or steps before a contract if you ask about one (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). I delete the conversation 12 months after it ends, unless the law requires me to keep it longer.

Fonts and links to other sites

All fonts are served from this site; no request goes to Google Fonts or any other font service. Links to Google Maps, operators' websites and official pages take you to those sites, and their privacy policies apply from there. Nothing is sent to them until you click.
