Çemberlitaş Hamamı
Finished in 1584 for Nurbanu Sultan, this double hamam is credited to Mimar Sinan, and its rents paid for her mosque complex across the Bosphorus in Üsküdar. Twelve columns and 38 marble basins ring the hot room, and it still sells plain entry without a scrub.

About Çemberlitaş Hamamı
The bath stands on Divanyolu beside the Column of Constantine, and the street has risen so far over the centuries that the men's entrance on Vezir Hanı Caddesi is now reached down a flight of steps. Nurbanu Sultan, who endowed it, was the wife of Selim II and the mother of Murad III. In both sections the changing hall sits under a large dome on corner squinches, with three tiers of changing galleries around it and light falling from a lantern at the top. Small domed private chambers fill the corners of the hot room, which also has carved marble lattice screens and columns with diamond-pattern capitals.
