About Therme Vals
Bronze Age finds have been made around the baths, and a bath at Vals is on record as early as 1732. A Kurhaus with a bathing establishment opened in 1893, after the road up from Ilanz was built in 1878 and 1879, and a new spa centre followed in 1970. The Graubünden tourist board describes the building as a return to the original bathing experience: contact with stone and with water at different temperatures.
