About Tamina Therme
The first bathhouse went up in the gorge above the roaring Tamina in 1350, and in 1535 Paracelsus vouched for the spring water, the resort says. Since 1840 a pipeline about four kilometres long has carried the water down to Ragaz, and in 1871 and 1872 Bernhard Simon built what the resort calls Europe's first indoor thermal bath here. Phones stay in the locker room, as the bath is a phone-free zone. In the sauna world the Kelo infusion sauna has 120 seats, which the resort says makes it Switzerland's largest Aufguss sauna, and in the 60 °C Pirts sauna birch or oak twigs are swept over the body in the Latvian way.
