Thermal baths in Poland
Poland's thermal water is drawn from boreholes, mostly between 1.3 and 2.4 km deep, under Podhale at the foot of the Tatras, the lowlands of central and western Poland, Warmia in the north and the Sudetes in the south-west. It comes up hot and is cooled for the pools, and in Podhale the same heat warms homes in and around Zakopane. Polish thermal parks pair warm pools with sauna zones that are often textile-free and kept for adults.
