GeoSea
Hot seawater from two drillholes, one on Húsavíkurhöfði and one by Húsavík harbor, runs through the pools and over their edges into the sea, so no cleaning agents are used. The pools sit at the foot of the yellow Húsavíkurviti lighthouse, where locals once bathed in an old cheese barrel.

About GeoSea
Residents used the ground heat north of Húsavík for bathing and washing for centuries. When drilling in the mid-20th century struck hot water, it turned out to be seawater, too rich in minerals to heat houses, so an old cheese barrel went in for bathing instead. The spa says people with skin conditions such as psoriasis have found relief in the water. The pools look west from a cliffside over Skjálfandi Bay, and locals come to discuss the day's happenings in them.
