About Forest Lagoon

The water comes from Vaðlaheiði, the mountain behind the lagoon, and was found during the tunnel project that took the road through it. The two pools, about 530 and 330 m², sit among the birch and pine of Vaðlaskógur and look over Eyjafjörður, one of Iceland's longest fjords, and the larger one has an indoor entrance. The Finnish dry sauna has a view of the fjord and the mountains around it, and a cold pool sits beside it. Skógur Bistro is wood-clad with a fire in the hearth and an outdoor terrace facing Akureyri and Hlíðarfjall.
