Thermal baths in Akureyri
At the head of the long Eyjafjörður fjord, Akureyri is the regional centre of north Iceland, with domestic flights from Reykjavík. Forest Lagoon's pools are in the birch woods on the slope across the fjord, about 3 km from the town centre. Whale-watching boats leave from the floating pier behind the Hof cultural centre, in the middle of town, and head out along the fjord.
