Cala Coticcio
A small sand cove on the east side of Caprera, inside a zone of integral protection of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. On land it can be visited only on a guided walk along the park's trail no. 10, with 60 people a day at most.

Expect the sea at about 25 °C in August and 13 °C in February, going by the 1991 to 2020 averages. The swimming season runs from June to October.
Getting in

- The land route is the park's trail no. 10, open only on foot, in daylight and on the marked path, with a park guide booked privately; the guide applies to the park at least 7 and at most 30 days ahead and names every participant. Turns meet at 08:00 to 13:00, 09:00 to 14:00, 13:30 to 18:30 and 14:00 to 19:00, and the park staffs a post at the trailhead; walking shoes are required. The park says the cove can be reached from land and from the sea. Inside zone Ta (integral protection) of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park: on land only by guided visit with an authorised environmental hiking guide (GAE), at most 15 people per turn, four daily turns, 60 people a day; fines for breaking the rules. No umbrellas; towels kept in bags and not laid on the sand or plants; no smoking or animals; rinse clothes and shoes that touched the sand. From 1 June to 30 September (2026 and 2027) the Coast Guard ordinance reserves the water at Cala Coticcio mainly for passenger boat manoeuvres and bans anchoring on Posidonia.
