Thermal baths in Pomurje
Pomurje is the northeast corner of Slovenia, flat farmland along the Mura river where the country opens onto the Pannonian plain, with Austria, Hungary and Croatia close on three sides and Murska Sobota as its main town. Much of its hot water turned up by accident: oil drillers struck it at Moravske Toplice more than 60 years ago and at Petišovci near Lendava in 1965. At Moravske Toplice the water comes up black, and Terme 3000 and Terme Vivat keep black-water pools at 37 to 39 °C, while the water at Terme Lendava carries enough paraffin to turn it green. South of the Mura are the Thermal Oasis at Radenci, Terme Banovci near Veržej and Bioterme at Mala Nedelja.

Bioterme Mala Nedelja
Thermal bath, Mala Nedelja · Outdoor swimming and children's pools open in July and August only; out of season the heated outdoor massage pools and resting pool stay open. Outdoor Finnish and Turkish saunas close in summer (20 June to 31 August 2026).
Bioterme draws its thermo-mineral water from two deep boreholes at 42 to 51 °C, and the Slovenian Ministry of Health has declared it a natural healing remedy.
Terme 3000 Moravske Toplice (Thermal Park)

The Moravci thermal mineral water was struck by accident more than 60 years ago when Nafta Lendava was drilling for oil, and it was declared a natural healing remedy in 1964.
Terme Banovci
Thermal bath, Veržej · Outdoor swimming pool, children's pool and slides open in summer only (slides 20 June to 31 August 2026). The naturist (FKK) pools and sauna are for the resort's accommodation guests only.
Terme Banovci opened its first thermal bathing pool in 1968 and its first covered thermal pool in 1989; the fluoride-rich thermo-mineral water rises from 1,700 metres at 58 to 60 °C and is cooled for bathing.
Terme Lendava

Oil workers drilling at Petišovci near Lendava in October 1965 struck hot water instead of oil, and the first proper thermal pool opened there in July 1968.

What is the black thermal water at Moravske Toplice?
A dark thermal mineral water drawn from deep below the town, bathed in unfiltered at Terme 3000 and Terme Vivat. At Terme 3000 it was declared a natural healing remedy in 1964, and its black-water baths are kept at 37 °C beside filtered thermal pools at 32 to 34 °C. Terme Vivat draws a cloudy, salty black water from 1,250 meters, which the operator says exists only in Moravske Toplice, and keeps it at 39 °C in a separate adults-only area called Črno zlato.
Can children go to the Pomurje thermal spas?
Yes, at all of them, with child tickets starting between 4 and 6. The Thermal Oasis at Radenci sells children's tickets from 4, Terme 3000, Terme Vivat, Terme Banovci and Bioterme Mala Nedelja from 5, and Terme Lendava from 6.
