Bogácsi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő
An oil-exploration drill struck 60 to 70 °C water at Bogács in October 1955, and a thermal well drilled in 1958 to 1959 found calcium magnesium hydrogen-carbonate sulphurous water at 485 m. The water was certified medicinal in 2001 and fills six pools at 34 to 37 °C, including a 27 by 13 m pool under a roof on Bogács stone columns.

About Bogácsi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő
The hot water came up by accident. On 9 October 1955 an oil rig worker pulled the lever that sent the drill rods down, and their fall of 5 to 7 m probably cracked the rock at the bottom of the hole; about ten minutes later someone shouted that water was coming out. While the thermal well was drilled in 1958 and 1959, villagers were already digging the first pool behind the rig as unpaid volunteers. That single pool drew more than a thousand people on summer days, some of them from East Germany, West Germany and Czechoslovakia. The twin pool, two 15 by 15 m basins side by side that differ only in temperature, dates from 1973.
