About Gerakas beach
Gerakas is area P2 of the 1999 decree for the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, which takes in the sand beach and the cape of the same name. The decree sets the area's aims as keeping the turtle breeding habitat, protecting the natural formations and keeping the look of the landscape. The park calls the clay pinnacles on the beach (the Glines) a geological monument.
