About Loutra Kaiafa
The water comes from two sources, the Geranio spring and a borehole called G3, which runs at 31 °C and is classed as hypothermal, hypertonic, sodium chloride, moderately sulphurous and carbonated. The site holds a large and a small cave of the Anigrid Nymphs, home to the hydrotherapy centre and the Geranio spring. Writings dated between 66 BC and AD 24 already describe the healing powers of the baths. The Hotel Olympia stands on a small islet in the lake, joined to the shore by a narrow bridge.
