Methana sulphur springs
Sulphur water flows into the sea beside the historic spa building at the entrance to Methana, turning a long stretch of shore milky white. The water is often above 30 °C and changes with the tide; no organised public spa is open, and the springs are free.

About Methana sulphur springs
Locals bathe here winter and summer, at any hour of the day or night, and the water carries the distinct smell of sulphur. Methana grew as a spa town from the late 19th century, when its springs were developed systematically.
