What are the rules on the Zakynthos turtle beaches?
People may be on the nesting beaches by day only, within a strip about 5 m from the sea, with no cars, motorbikes, bicycles, horses or dogs. From May to October Gerakas takes at most 350 visitors at a time and Dafni 100, and from 1 May to 31 October no boats may enter the sea in front of Kalamaki, Gerakas and Dafni. Elsewhere in Laganas Bay boats are limited to 6 knots.
Can you visit Navagio beach on Zakynthos?
Not the beach itself. After rockfalls in 2018, landing on the beach and swimming in the bay are banned, and boats must keep 50 m off the shore; the current decision runs to 31 October 2026. There is no way down by land, and boats to the cove leave from Zakynthos Town and Porto Vromi.
