About Hürlimannbad Zürich
Albert Hürlimann moved his family's beer production to Enge in 1866, and by 1880, Zurich Tourism says, it was the biggest brewery in Switzerland. The baths now fill the windowless vaults where the beer was once stored, with the sand-lime brick walls left bare and details around the rooms that refer back to brewing. The Roman-Irish ritual leads through ten stations of warming, washing and cooling in these old rooms, for a limited number of guests at a time, and its sea buckthorn scrub was made for it by Farfalla.
