About Leukerbad Therme
The bath draws on two springs: the Rossquelle, which locals call the Rossgillu, at about 45 °C and 175 litres a minute, and a spring tapped in 1978 and 1979 farther up the bed of the Dala at the Blischesgraben, which gives 550 to 600 litres a minute. The rain that feeds them soaks in around the Wysssee and Schwarzsee lakes, 2,300 to 3,000 m up between the Majinghorn and the Torrenthorn, and picks up calcium and sulphate from gypsum on its way through the mountain.
