Pålsjöbaden

A City of Helsingborg cold-bath house on the Öresund shore north of Gröningen, reached along a long timber pier, with separate naked baths for women and men and both a moist and a dry sauna. A glazed café sits in the middle of the bath house, and on Thursday evenings one side becomes a mixed sauna for couples and groups.

About Pålsjöbaden

The Follin family of Pålsjö built a bath house here in 1880, and it passed to the city in 1908 along with most of the Pålsjö estate. A bathing place laid out by the architect Ola Anderson then ran as Helsans Pålsjöbad under the town's spa until 1912, when the public protested that the shore should be open to everyone and the bath was opened to all. Helsingborg's city lexicon classes it as especially valuable building stock. Out by the bathing steps are cabins where you can leave your clothes for the day.
