About Kallis
An earlier cold bath below Tågagatan was wrecked by a storm in February 1868, rebuilt on the spot, and lost again in the Christmas storm of 1902, so the next one went up a few hundred metres north as Norra kallbadhuset. That old Kallis stood until Walpurgis Eve 1968, when the fire brigade burned it as a bonfire watched by tens of thousands of Helsingborg people, and the present bath house was built on the same site soon after. For aufguss sessions, staff hang clothes pegs in each side ten minutes before a 24-person session, and taking a peg holds your seat.
