About Puffin Sauna

Leith Community Croft is two acres of common good land at the northern tip of Leith Links, a neglected corner that Edinburgh Council appointed the charity Earth in Common to manage with and for local people. Around the sauna, the croft grows seasonal produce in its market garden and runs the Populus cafe and shop. The sauna takes its name from the birds: puffins live in large colonies while each pair keeps its own burrow, and the operator calls the sauna your burrow. There is no set routine; the operator says you can start and end hot or cold, and many guests cool down with just the shower or the fresh Scottish air.
