About Ardagh Community Sauna
The Ardagh went up in the 1920s in the middle of the common, when Kellaway Avenue was just a track and Henleaze, Golden Hill and Manor Farm hadn't been built. A tree-lined single-track lane leads in. A charity founded in 2017 manages the grounds, which take in tennis courts, gardens, a café and a plant nursery. Soap stays out of the plunge pools because the runoff can harm the plants and wildlife, and some sessions keep talk in the sauna to a minimum, while the Sauna Sounds events pair the heat with music.
