Thermal baths in Brežice

Brežice is in the Lower Sava Valley of eastern Slovenia, close to the Croatian border and about 28 km west of Zagreb. Terme Čatež, on the Sava just outside town, keeps its winter thermal pools under domes, with a passage out to a pool in the open air. Brežice Castle, about 3 km away in the town centre, holds the Posavje Museum and a hall painted with frescoes.
