Thermal baths in Merano

Also spelled Meran

Merano, Meran in German, sits in the Adige valley in South Tyrol, about 25 km north-west of Bolzano. Terme Merano is an indoor thermal bath in the town centre, with radon-bearing water piped down from the Vigiljoch and a pool you can swim out of into the open air. About 2 km south-east, the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle climb a hillside in terraces planted from around the world.
