VOYA Seaweed Baths

Seaweed baths on the seafront at Strandhill, where the Walton family reopened the village's old bathhouse in 2000, using seaweed hand-harvested from the local shore. About VOYA Seaweed Baths

Neil Walton, a former professional triathlete, first came across seaweed baths through fellow athletes while on a sports scholarship in Australia, and on his return went to Enniscrone to try them before opening in Strandhill. The two saunas carry Irish names: Teach Allais, "house of sweat", faces North Strandhill Beach, and Loinnir, "shimmer", looks south toward the Ox Mountains. The Knocknarea Suite looks onto Knocknarea and Queen Maeve's Cairn. After a bath, the used seaweed goes to organic farms and gardens.
