Thermal baths in Zalakaros
The spa town of Zalakaros lies in south-west Hungary, about 14 km north-east of Nagykanizsa and 26 km south of Keszthely on Lake Balaton. Zalakaros Spa has an indoor thermal bath and an adventure pool area inside and out, with a domed thermal world on a ticket of its own. At Kápolnapuszta in the Kis-Balaton wetlands, about 7 km north-east, a trail runs past a herd of water buffalo.

Zalakaros Spa opened its first indoor building in 1975 and has been officially recognised as a spa by the Ministry of Health since 1978; its medicinal water is an alkali chloride, bicarbonate, iodide and bromide water with hydrogen sulphide.
