About Spa du Splendid
André Granet's hotel on the Adour replaced a medieval fortress. The spa fills 1,800 m² laid out on the remains of the old castle of Dax, with stone vaults overhead and mosaics drawn from the 1930s. Past the main pool, the circuit runs to a flotation pool, an ice fountain, a Kneipp path of hot and cold basins over small pebbles, and showers that combine hot water, cold water and mist. The hotel counts Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Kessel and Sacha Guitry among its past guests.
