Les Bains du Couloubret
The Couloubret building, rebuilt in 1865 to 1872 with an Art Deco façade added in 1931, reopened as a thermal leisure bath in 2009. Thermal water at 33 to 38 °C fills every pool, including a 200 m² central pool under a glass roof, with a 15 °C frigidarium and a vaporarium of natural thermal steam.

About Les Bains du Couloubret
The Couloubret is the oldest bathhouse in Ax, on the right bank of the stream now called the Ruisseau Sorgeat, and the town says its name comes from couloubrou, small snakes. Its springs were rediscovered in 1750, and in 1867 Professor Garrigou found the remains of a prehistoric bath catchment on the site. The rebuilt baths drew on 14 mineral springs and treated ear, nose and throat complaints until 2006. Today colonnades with four alcoves ring the central pool, and outside, two pools on two levels, the Amphithéâtre and the Panoramique, sit below a sun terrace facing the mountains.
