About Saunia Thermal Resort (Hotel Thermal pool)
Hotel Thermal was built between 1968 and 1977 to a competition design by the architects Machonin, a husband and wife, mixing Brutalism with the international style, as a film festival centre, hotel and thermal spa in one. It has been the main venue of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival since it opened in 1977. The hotel suggests staying in the 38 °C spring water no more than 20 minutes at a time, then going back in.
