Swimming in Palermo

Palermo is the capital of Sicily, on the island's north coast, and its seaside suburb of Mondello lies about 10 km north of the city centre. Mondello's beach is a long curve of fine white sand lined with beach clubs, with a city bus out from Piazza Croci in summer. Back in the centre, the Ballarò street market sells fish, fruit and fried snacks to eat as you walk.
