Swimming in Noto
In south-east Sicily about 30 km south-west of Siracusa, Noto is one of the late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto on UNESCO's World Heritage list. Its coast takes in the Vendicari nature reserve, where Calamosche is a small sand cove between two headlands, a walk from the reserve gate. In town, about 8 km north, the cathedral stands at the top of a wide flight of steps on Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
