Swimming in Plakias

Facing the Libyan Sea on Crete's south coast, south of Rethymno, Plakias is a village behind a beach that runs for over a kilometre round the bay. Part of the beach is naturist. The Kotsifou gorge comes down to Plakias from the village of Kanevos, about 5 km north.
