Swimming in Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon

Above the north-west end of the Lac de Sainte-Croix, the hilltop village of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon is about 11 km from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. Below it, the main beach and three smaller ones line the shore, with lifeguards in July and August. The Valensole plateau, where the lavender flowers from mid-June to mid-July, stretches away north-west towards Riez, about 8 km off.
