Calanque de Sugiton

Sugiton is two small coves under steep cliffs, each with a tiny beach, reached on foot from the Luminy campus past a lookout at 245 m. Heavy visitor numbers have eroded the site, and in peak summer the park only lets in visitors with a free booking.

Getting in

Access
From Luminy the park gives about 30 minutes to the lookout and 45 to the calanque, by the steep path cut into the rock or the old fire track. Bookings open at 09:00 three days ahead and close at 18:00 the day before. The park says rockfalls are common and loose stones are cleared regularly above Pierres Tombées. From 1 June to 30 September the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture sets access to the Calanques massif day by day (order of 22 April 2025): green allows access, red bans it, and the map for the next day is published around 18:00.
Public transport
RTM bus B1 or 521 to Luminy - PN des Calanques, then about 45 minutes on foot through the Luminy pine forest.
