Swimming in Cannes
Cannes lies on the Golfe de la Napoule, about 25 km south-west of Nice. The Plage du Midi is a run of public sand west of the old port, and offshore Île Sainte-Marguerite, the bigger of the two Lérins islands, has forest paths and a beach near the landing stage. Above the old port, the lanes of Le Suquet climb to a museum in the castle and a view over the bay.
