Piteå is a coastal town in Norrbotten where the Pite River meets the Bothnian Bay, about 45 km south-west of Luleå and its airport. The Pite Havsbad resort, about 10 km south of the town centre, has a hotel spa that sells drop-in day tickets, with saunas and pools looking out over the bay.
