Thermal baths in Egilsstaðir

On the banks of the Lagarfljót river, Egilsstaðir is the main town of east Iceland, with an airport for flights from Reykjavík. Vök Baths are on Urriðavatn, a small lake about 5 km north-west of the town, with the pools floating out on the water. About 7 km south-east of Vök, a marked trail climbs to Fardagafoss, a waterfall with a cave behind it.
