Solebad Bad Salzdetfurth

A brine pool run by the Bad Salzdetfurth spa company, filled with 2 to 3 % brine at 30 to 33 °C in a 250 m² indoor pool and a 450 m² outdoor pool; the town has used the natural brine from deep below it for cures since 1857. A separate textile-free area has five saunas, among them a half-sunken Kelo earth sauna at 95 °C with a wood fire in winter.

Swimwear and rules
The sauna area is textile-free; the heat rooms may only be used unclothed. Sauna women only on Tuesdays 08:00 to 21:00 and men only on Mondays 08:00 to 15:00; mixed on Monday from 15:00 and Wednesday to Sunday.

About Solebad Bad Salzdetfurth

The first bathhouse went up in 1856, a year before the cures began, to put the mineral-rich brine to use. The outdoor brine pool stays open through ice and snow, with a Kneipp wading pool and an arm bath beside it in the open air. In the sauna garden, the six-sided Kelo sauna has its stove in the middle of the room, clad in salt for the infusions, and the showers run down a natural stone wall.
