Thermal baths in Bad Elster
In the Vogtland, the far south-west corner of Saxony, Bad Elster lies on the White Elster close to the Czech border, about 25 km south of Plauen. The Soletherme belongs to the Saxon state spa, with pools of strong brine, among them a floating salt lake, reached through the historic Albert Bad.

The brine bath of the Saxon state spa in Bad Elster is fed by its own brine spring, drilled in 2009 to 1,200 m, which rises at 42 °C with 22 % salt; the operator calls it a Glauber's salt spring.
