Thermal baths in Guillestre

Guillestre stands where the road into the Queyras leaves the Durance valley, about 35 km by road south of Briançon. The warm spring pools of the Plan de Phazy lie about 3.5 km west of the village, below Risoul. About 2 km north-east of the spring, the Vauban fortress town of Mont-Dauphin sits on a plateau above the Durance and its ramparts can be walked round.

    Hot spring, Guillestre · The edges of the pools are slippery (tourist office).

    A hot spring on the Durance fault at about 900 m between Guillestre and Risoul, rising from a rock of pink Guillestre marble in front of the 1824 Rotonde and flowing into four pools built in the 1980s.
