Thermal baths in Digne-les-Bains
Digne-les-Bains sits at about 600 m in the foothills of the southern Alps, some 140 km by road from both Nice and Marseille. Its thermal baths are about 3 km east of the centre, in the small valley of the Eaux Chaudes stream. On the north side of town, about 5 km from the baths, the Dalle aux ammonites shows more than 1,500 fossil ammonites and nautiluses on one tilted slab of rock.
