About La Banchina

La Banchina is Italian for "the little quay". The building was the main guardhouse and waiting room for workers at the Burmeister & Wain shipyard, and founder Christer Bredgaard turned the abandoned building into a restaurant and wine bar in 2015 and 2016, keeping its raw, weathered character. In summer the kitchen moves into a greenhouse in the garden; in the colder months the place shrinks to a 16-seat wine bar. The stove is dry and guests may not pour water on it.
