Thermal baths in Bad Gastein

In the upper Gastein valley, at about 1,000 m and some 80 km south of Salzburg, Bad Gastein is built up steep slopes either side of a waterfall. Felsentherme Bad Gastein has a rest hall cut into the rock and pools of Gastein thermal water. From the village the Stubnerkogel cable car runs up to about 2,300 m, where a 140 m suspension bridge leads out from the top station.
