Thermal baths in Albania

Albania's thermal springs rise in its mountain valleys, and several carry llixhat, the Albanian word for spa baths, in their names. At Tregan near Elbasan the springs have been used since Roman times, and in Kolonjë, in the south-east, local people have long bathed in the hot mineral water as a cure. In Dimal, three natural springs give cold sulphur water that residents have traditionally used for healing.
