Swimming in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the port city on the north-east coast of Gran Canaria, about 20 km north of the island's airport. Playa de las Canteras runs for about 3 km along the city's western shore, with a limestone reef, La Barra, offshore. About 5 km south, the old quarter of Vegueta has the cathedral of Santa Ana and the Casa de Colón museum.
