Cala Macarella

A south-facing cove of white sand about 140 m long at the mouth of the Santa Anna ravine, backed by pine-covered cliffs and a small freshwater wetland. It lies in a protected natural area, and in summer the road to its car park is closed to private cars, so the way in is the council shuttle bus, on foot or by bike.

Parking
Car park about 1 km from the beach (Santa Anna). Closed to private motor vehicles from 1 June to 30 September; outside that period the Consell's car park status page shows no access control (checked 2 Oct 2026). People can park near the bus stop on the Ciutadella ring road (via perimetral) instead.
Public transport
Bus Macarella (Consell Insular de Menorca) from the via perimetral in Ciutadella to the Macarella car park, in summer only; the 2026 season ran to 30 September. Tickets can be booked online; children from 4 need a ticket.
