Swimming in Caleta de Famara

Caleta de Famara is a surf village on the north-west coast of Lanzarote, about 17 km north of Arrecife, below the Famara cliffs. Playa de Famara runs from the village for some 6 km, an open Atlantic beach where steady wind and waves bring surfers and kitesurfers. On Sundays the old town of Teguise, about 6 km south, fills with a street market.
