How do you get to the beaches on Antipaxos?
By boat from Gaios, a crossing of about 15 minutes, since Antipaxos has no road link. Vrika Express runs transfers from Gaios to Vrika and Voutoumi, and speedboats, caiques and small boats also go from the Paxos harbours.
Can you swim in Paxos in October?
Yes. The sea around Paxos and Antipaxos is typically about 22 °C in October and 20 °C in November, after 25 °C in September. The swimming season runs from May to November.
Are the beaches on Paxos sandy?
Mostly not. The Municipality of Paxoi says most Paxos beaches are small and pebbled, and Kipiadi, Kloni Gouli and Levrechio are pebble. The sand is on Antipaxos, at Vrika and the white sand of Voutoumi.
Are Paxos and Antipaxos a protected area?
Yes. Paxos, Antipaxos and the sea around them form a Natura 2000 site, listed for the Mediterranean monk seal and the bottlenose dolphin.
