Swimming in Vouliagmeni
A seaside suburb of Athens on the Saronic Gulf, Vouliagmeni is about 20 km by road from both the city centre and the airport. Astir and Kavouri are sand beaches west of the town, and Lake Vouliagmeni, just inland, is a warm swimming lake under a rock wall. A walk of about 1.5 km follows the curve of Vouliagmeni Bay out towards the point, and surfers take to the bay in winter.
